LinuxIT Europe, the leading provider of Linux services, today announced that it has won `IT Services Supplier of the Year' at the Computing Awards for Excellence 2006.

London, UK, 31st October 2006 - LinuxIT Europe, the leading provider of Linux services, today announced that it has won `IT Services Supplier of the Year' at the Computing Awards for Excellence 2006.

This award, one of the most prestigious in the IT world and dubbed the `Oscars of the IT industry', once again confirms LinuxIT's position as one of the leading providers of technical and support services in the UK.

The Computing Awards for Excellence are highly respected within the industry, and are given to those whose challenges and achievements deserve recognition and whose thinking sets them apart from the crowd.

Amongst the reasons for this award is the recent release of LinuxIT's VitalSigns24. This remote monitoring and proactive management service offers reassurance to a market confused by Linux services; confusion perpetuated by the Oracle and Red Hat furor.

Peter Dawes-Huish, CEO of LinuxIT Europe, who accepted the award at the recent ceremony in London, commented: "The `IT Services Supplier of the Year Award' is reserved for the services provider that the judging panel and readers consider to provide the best quality, value-for-money, innovative IT services. We are very proud to receive this award, especially because it is a recognition that is not just limited to the Linux world, but represents acknowledgement across the entire industry."

Partnering with the major software and hardware vendors, LinuxIT offers a complete end-to-end solution, augmenting its solution stacks with the professional services capabilities required to deliver a fully integrated solution. LinuxIT also provides managed services, post installation support and training for clients. Working to aggressive timelines, the team successfully deploys solutions both directly to customers and to the clients of established and successful IT solutions companies including Cable and Wireless, Dimension Data, IBM, NEC, Dell and their partners.
