With Midvision and Linuxtag two IT trade fairs located in Karlsruhe are approaching. This is a home game for the Karlsruhe software provider ABAS Software AG which develops flexible business software (ERP, PPC; MRP, eBusiness) for medium-sized businesses.

Midvision/Midrange 2005

Impetus for innovative changes in medium-sized businesses and tangible, practice oriented solutions are the goals Midvision/Midrange have set for this third trade fair. Qualified trade visitors will not only find a competent trade fair from June 8th to 9th , but will also find further training and company training events in the Neue Messe in Karlsruhe. The Karlsruhe Messe- und Kongress-GmbH anticipates 130 exhibitors. On stand C12 ABAS presents the abas Business Software for medium-sized businesses in production, trade and service. 64Bit computing with abas Business Software: thanks to the support of the IBM iSeries (AS400) a new platform is available with the new IBM Power 5 processors using which changing to a modern, graphical ERP system is possible. Optionally, IBM OpenPower can be supported. Intel ItaniumŪ and Xeon Nocona are two other 64Bit platforms that are being supported.

Linuxtag 2005

From July 22nd to 25th Linuxtag will open its gates in the Karlsruhe Kongresszentrum. The Linuxtag is the biggest trade fair and conference on "Linux and free software" in Europe. The motto of the fair is "Where .com meets .org" - all parties interested and committed to the free software environment, i.e. companies and free projects, will meet there. This mixture has made Linuxtag to the most successful event of its kind. Innovative technologies are here not only masterminded in theory, but also actually realized. Approximately 16,000 visitors and over 160 exhibitors on about 6,000qm are expected. abas Business Software can run using Linux, Unix and Windows. ABAS has supported the open source operating system Linux on the server-side since 1995. Approximately 80% of over 1,600 abas installations are based on Linux. abas Business Software is offered in the front end range of Linux from Version 2003 onwards. Linux has proven to be a cost effective, stable and high performance system on both the server and the client side.
