International Venture Capital Group invests in German Open Source and LINUX experts
Düsseldorf - An international group of investors has made a major
investment in ID-PRO AG, in order to develop the German market more
quickly, enterprise spokesman Daniel Riek stated prior to the
exponet'99 starting in Düsseldorf on Montag (4. October).
ID-PRO AG was created by the fusion of the two LINUX consulting and
support companies ID-PRO GmbH in Bonn and DI Delta Internet GmbH in
Arnsberg. The lines of business of the new enterprise include
consulting, system implementation, support and training, as well as
Open Source Software development. With its comprehensive competence in
the area of the alternative operating system LINUX and LINUX-based
applications, ID-PRO AG intends to act as an interface between
professional business applications and the world of Open Source
Software.
"The agreed investment allows us to continue and accelerate our
envisaged growth and to strengthen our position as one of the leading
German LINUX supporters," company spokesman Daniel Riek declared. "As
a consequence, we will establish LINUX competence centres in important
German centres, in order to provide a point of contact for our
customers at all times." Riek mentioned Frankfurt and Hamburg as the
first of numerous branches to be established. Centralized services,
such as telephone support and support hotlines would be provided by
the company headquarters in Bonn.
"We are witnessing a fundamental paradigm shift in the software
industry towards perceiving software as a service." According to
ID-PRO, the Open Source operating system LINUX with its unparalleled
rise over the past few years plays a decisive role for this
development due to revolutionize several markets.
ID-PRO supports the objectives of the Open Source movement as a member
of the LINUX association LIVE. LIVE is an association of LINUX users
and distributors with the aim of representing the interests of the
LINUX community towards third parties.
ID-PRO AG will be present at the exponet'99 taking place in Düsseldorf
from 5. to 7. October in hall 1 / 2 at stand Highway 33.
At the Systems '99, taking place in Munich from 18. to 22. October in
Munich, ID-PRO AG will be present at stand A3.203-36.
