Brazilian developer becomes the new maintainer of the Linux Kernel

Marcelo Tosatti, 18 years of age and a developer at Conectiva, was chosen by Linus Torvalds and Alan Cox to be the new maintainer of the Linux kernel. Beginning at the end of November, he well occupy this position in place of Cox, the current maintainer.
Tosatti will have the responsibility for deciding on the path of the 2.4 version of the Linux kernel, selecting corrections that can be implemented or not in the next version of the system. In addition, work on updates related to the compatability of Linux with new machines and peripheral devices that enter the market.
The responsibility is great. His decisions will affect thousands of people and companies that utilize the 2.4 version of Linux.
