Win4Lin Desktop 2.0 gives Linux users the ability to run Windows applications at native speeds without having to partition or dual boot.

Research Triangle Park, N.C. -- Dec. 1, 2000 -- NeTraverse today announced the release of Win4Lin Desktop 2.0, which includes new features such as sound support, SMP support, and European language support for localized versions of Microsoft Windows 95/98.

Win4Lin Desktop 2.0 gives Linux users the ability to run Windows applications at native speeds without having to partition or dual boot. "You can run Linux but still use company-standard applications such as Office or Outlook. What's cool is Win4Lin seems to cause virtually no performance degradation in Windows or Linux. In fact, Windows seems to run even faster than it does natively," said Nick Petreley recently in InfoWorld http://www.infoworld.com/articles/op/xml/00/11/27/001127oppetreley.xml. "With this release, we address the needs of both individual desktop users as well as corporate IT managers wanting to run Windows applications on Linux in a networked environment," added Jim Curtin, president and CEO of NeTraverse.

Win4Lin Version 2.0 is currently available at the NeTraverse web site http://www.netraverse.com as a downloadable license key for $59.99, or a CD-ROM box set with Installation and Getting Started Guide for $89.99. The box set will ship by December 15th.

NeTraverse offers innovative software solutions enabling common Windows applications to run at optimized speeds on Linux. The company has offices in Austin, TX, Research Triangle Park, NC, and Santa Cruz, CA.
