Intel and PPC-based distribution to provide 2.4 kernel, ReiserFS, XFree86 4.01

Italy, August 30, 2000 - Future Technologies is proud to announce the development of its own Linux distribution: "FTOSX".

FTOSX is not a common "cut and paste" package Linux distribution.

Caldera was based on the educational german distribution LST, originally based on RedHat. SuSE starts from scratch including, now six CD or a DVD. The most common distributions are based on RedHat Linux, like Mandrake Linux.

The main reason for this development was the new MacOSX, based on the Mach BSD 4.4 UNIX Kernel, the Gtk Mandrake 7.1 installation program, the "new" Journaled ReiserFS and the GRUB that now solves also the 1023-cylinder problem.

The product will be based on Linux 2.4, with a RedHat Linux hierarchy and KDE 2.0 on X Window System 4.0.1. FTOSX will run on i386 and PowerPC processors.

We promise something new and more easy than actual Linux distributions. This product is under development, and when we complete the beta you will receive a copy, probably in October.
