HILTON HEAD ISLAND, SC -- August 7, 1999 --
eDivision.net, an eCommerce solution
provider with operations in Hilton Head Island, SC, Austin, TX, Dayton,
OH, and Atlanta, GA. announced that founder and Senior Consultant, Jeff
"SKI" Kinsey will be addressing the JaxLUG [Jacksonville Linux Users Group]
this Wednesday, August, 11, 1999 at 6:00PM. Meeting directions are available
on the JaxLUG web site. Public
welcome.
"Making Money with Linux" is a topic gaining much 'air'
play on the internet in recent days. Numerous articles have appeared on
LinuxToday.com as well as other Linux oriented web sites. SKI will bring
the topic home and make it come 'alive' to the audience at JaxLUG. A dynamic
speaker, SKI [an ATM with Toastmasters]
has spoken to various professionals over the last eighteen years, including
CEOs, small business owners, and software developers.
SKI will highlight the opportunities now present, with RedHat's IPO,
to add a Linux host to most any small business network. Obvious functions
include email hosting, faxing, file server, firewall and some twenty-seven
tasks that are best suited for true multitasking machines like those built
upon Unix and/or Linux hosts. SKI has been involved with computer consulting
since 1981 and built his first website in 1994. He has served as Chief
Information Officer and Chief Financial Officer at various organizations
and was the DBA [Database Administrator] and MIS Administrator for the
Town of Hilton Head Island, SC. SKI is a nationally published author as
well as computer programmer.
His favorite "tools of the trade" include Linux, Tcl/Tk, Sybase XI ASE,
and SybTcl.
