Aug 4th, 17:04 UTC
Today, IndyBox Systems (based
in Indianapolis, Indiana), the world's leading manufacturer of Linux
computers, announced they would be slashing all of their system pricing in
continuing to provide the most affordable, highest quality pure GNU/Linux
systems available.
IndyBox Systems Chief Executive Charles Martin said "as of August 4,
1999 we will be slashing the prices on all of our systems significantly
given the surge in our aggregate production levels, our costs have fallen
to which we want to pass these savings on to our customers. Our continued
successes and advances have afforded continued high-levels of productivity
to exist within the Midwest bringing many high-technology jobs to the
Hoosier marketplace. Five months ago when starting IndyBox Systems
Corporation we envisioned bringing a portion of the innovation found
in Silicon Valley to the Midwest -- it seems as if we are doing that
successfully."
Martin further stated "the release of their sub-1U rack mountable
system will be much smaller than what is currently available from other
hardware manufacturers. We recruited the most brilliant minds from Rose
Hullman and Purdue in providing the engineering power needed to make this
project a reality."
The recent price slashing comes shortly after the initial release of the
IndyBox dual Intel Pentium III rack mountable 2U ZM Series with your choice
of Linux distribution pre-installed.
