New domain and Section 501-C3 in motion for Linux in Business
Anchor
Dateline: Dallas, TX, July 19, 1999 - Nicholas
Donovan and Tom
Adelstein co-moderators of the Linux
Consultants Support and Resource Center (code named lc/src)
announced that they will seek official non-profit status from the
State of Texas and register the Center under Section 501-C3 of the
Internal Revenue Code. The move will allow the Center to cement its
non-profit roots.
The Center also has a new domain: lcsrc.org. "We have a
Cobalt RaQ 2 setup and will migrate the site from Bynari the weekend
of the 24th of July," says Tom Adelstein.
"The
Linux in Business Case Studies pages continue to get substantial
hits. The 'Vignette
Story', for example, has drawn serious attention from the
Business Community. Many organizations want to know that Linux is
for real and these case studies help them build their cases,"
continues Adelstein.
The co-moderators want the Linux community to see the site as a
development project. Contributions like John Bell's story create a
snow-ball effect and give others the courage to write their stories
and post their forms, processes, scripts and practice documents to
the site.
