New Web Site Marks First Birthday for Enhydra Application Server and Delivers Improved Support to Open Source Community

Santa Cruz, California, January 17, 2000-Lutris Technologies today announced the launch of a new and improved Enhydra.org web site that marks the one year anniversary of the delivery of the Enhydra application server to the Open Source community.

Enhydra, the leading Open Source Java/XML application server, has enjoyed wide acceptance since its introduction to Open Source one year ago. Over 17,000 developers have downloaded the free software from the Enhydra.org site and there are 800 active members on the Enhydra mailing lists.

The updated web site, which went live on Saturday, January 15, is part of an effort by Lutris Technologies to provide better support to the Open Source community that has helped turn Enhydra into a truly enterprise-scalable solution. The site contains more useful information including dynamic content that will be updated several times a week. It also provides areas for developers with similar interests to communicate with each other, and information about partnership opportunities for Enhydra developers.

Lutris expects the number of Enhydra developers using the Enhydra.org site to increase substantially with the soon-to-be-released Enhydra Enterprise. The new enterprise version of the Enhydra application server will incorporate EJB, CORBA, and Servlet 2.2 technology, and include many new features to support Enterprise-level development.
