CompTIA enters into discussion with Wave Technologies International, Inc. about Sair Linux

LOMBARD, IL. , February 4, 2000 -CompTIA, the Computing Technology Industry Association, announced today it is exploring a new Linux+ certification and has entered into discussion with Wave Technologies International, Inc. (Nasdaq: WAVT) about its Sair Linux and GNU Level I Certification.

CompTIA is a global leader in vendor-neutral IT certification development. Linux+ would be CompTIA's fifth certification, complementing its existing A+, Network+, CDIA and i-Net+ certifications.

"Each CompTIA program follows a comprehensive development plan and beta testing period to ensure that the resulting technical certification is legally defensible and conforms to the highest standards," said Perry Anthony, CompTIA director of certification.

Ken Kousky, Wave Technologies president and chief executive officer, added, "We believe Sair Linux and GNU is the most comprehensive certification program available in the Linux industry. Incorporated into CompTIA's existing Linux+ certification efforts, it will allow the association to provide the vendor-neutral product necessary in light of the growing demand for Linux."

The Sair Linux and GNU Certification program offers examinations at three levels: Level I - Sair Linux and GNU Certified Administrator (LCA); Level II - Sair Linux and GNU Certified Engineer; and Level III - Master Sair Linux and GNU Certified Engineer (MLCE). Candidates for the LCA certification must pass four examinations. CompTIA is assessing this program to consider incorporating it into its existing Linux+ program development.
