Coverity, the leader in improving software integrity, today announced a partnership with Cigital Inc., the leading software security and quality consulting firm, that will help software development teams improve the quality and security of their applications. The alliance will help enterprises deliver complex software by finding and fixing critical software defects and security vulnerabilities in C, C++, C# and Java code throughout the software development lifecycle. With this partnership, companies will be able to take advantage of Cigital and Coverity's integration capabilities to gain even greater value from their technology investment.

"We purchased Coverity Prevent for our development environment to help us develop higher quality code. In order to assist us with on site training and optimization, we purchased a deployment service package from Coverity, which was delivered by Cigital," said Matthew Garrod, Applications Developer at Great American Insurance's Crop Division. "The Cigital team was very knowledgeable about Coverity Prevent, as well as polite and courteous. They provided quality training on all aspects of Prevent and assisted us in customizing the product to our specific needs. Our experience with Cigital has helped us integrate Coverity Prevent into our software development process and develop higher quality code."

Cigital will use Coverity's sophisticated technology that allows development teams to deliver superior-quality code, improve development processes and speed time-to-market for critical software systems. Cigital will enable customers who have purchased Coverity's products to maximize their investment with customization and advanced application of the solution, while enabling enterprises to move towards a secure software development lifecycle model.

Additionally, customers can take advantage of Cigital's deep consulting expertise in software portfolio and application reviews, enterprise security benchmarking and secure SDLC implementation, portfolio risk analysis, and software security training.
