The Florida Linux Show has Signed its First Official Sponsor to the Florida Linux Show 2009 Jacksonville
The Florida Linux Show 2008 Sponsored by RedHat was so successful last year that the Board of Directors of Beachside Technical Media, Inc. authorized two shows in two different Florida locations for 2009. The two shows are named (1) Florida Linux Show 2009 Jacksonville and (2) Florida Linux Show 2009 Orlando. The best way to help everyone around the state to make a show without going broke on the gasoline was to hold another show closer to the other Linix User Groups in the more southerly part of the state. The economy was one of the issues that that board felt shouldn't force people to choose between attending and not attending attending a great show because of the cost of transportation and being part of the Florida Linux and Open Source experience.
Both the Florida Linux Show 2009 Jacksonville and the Florida Linux Show 2009 Orlando are proud to announce that the LinuxJournal has become the first Major Official Sponsor for both shows this year. Please look for ads regarding the Florida Linux Show 2009 Jacksonville and Orlando in coming issues of LinuxJournal.
Hold onto your hats and sun tan lotion, the Florida Linux Show 2009 Jacksonville will be held on March 9th, 2009, at the University of North Florida University Center. Cost to attend the Show is a mere $20.00. Lunch is on us and we will also be making a chairitable contribution as we did last year for every Admission received. Volunteers receive free lunch and free admission to both the Jacksonville and Orlando shows.
The Florida Linux Show theme this year is Migration, Integration, and Enterprise systems. Other topics that will also be covered will be Making Money with Open Source, Ubuntu for Everyone, and Open Source for personal and business uses.
Last year's first show boasted over 400 attendees, over 20 first time Exhibitors, 13 major official Sponsors, and a number of top name speakers including Jon "Maddog" Hall and Robin "Roblimo" Miller.
This year's Jacksonville began with registration starting on June 27th, 2008. The Orlando show is tentatively scheduled for October 26th and final venue location and date is forth coming. Please be sure to visit the Florida Linux Show website at www.floridalinuxshow.com for further details. Doors to both shows will open at 8:00 am and close at 5:00 pm. Please don't miss this opportunity to go to the show that last year attendees called "Awesome, Awesome, Awesome".
